Order up some mahi mahi if you're lookin' for a taste of Hawaii. Mahi mahi for is an excellent buy now -- in fact, it is at record low prices!

It is one of the most plentiful species in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The popular fish has become a staple on many restaurant menus. It is one of the fastest growing species, and is usually much less expensive than fish such as grouper and snapper.

Once you've tried it in a restaurant -- like at Benkovitz for example -- it's hard to resist buying it fresh to cook at home. Its meat is firm and lean with large, moist flakes. Mahi mahi has a sweet, mild flavor and can be poached, steamed, baked, fried, grilled or sauteed. Be careful not to overcook it. (It is OK to overeat it, though!)
