IN MEMORY OF “MR. B.”

Bernard Benkovitz – or “Mr. B.,” as he was affectionately known – was a true Pittsburgh treasure. The current owners of Benkovitz Seafoods wish to express our heartfelt regret at his death on July 21, 2009.

We are so proud to be a part of the Benkovitz legacy. The fish market that Mr. B. and his family operated from the early 1900’s until just a few years ago, is woven into the fabric of the city. “We know what the store means to Pittsburghers,” said general manager Horacio Ruiz. “In all we do, we think about how we can honor the Benkovitz name and carry on the great traditions it represents.”
